Clay Alliance holds 17th Annual Spring Pottery Fair on May 6

More than 60 of the area's top clay artists will come together from 11 am to 5 pm Saturday, May 6, at DeSales Corner for the Clay Alliance's Spring Pottery Fair.

Held in East Walnut Hills on the corner of Woodburn Avenue and Madison Road, shoppers will find an amazing selection of original pottery – from functional plates, platters and bowls to one-of-a-kind art.

Leading up to the event, the Spring Pottery Fair’s Facebook page features a different participating artist, including details about their craft and numerous photos of their work.

Throughout the afternoon, members of the Clay Alliance will conduct wheel and hand-building demonstrations.

Admission is free. Limited free parking is available. The Fair will be held rain or shine.

Register for WSCW's August
Summer Clay Camp for Kids

Our first two Summer Clay Camps for Kids are sold
out, but we still have room in our August one-week camp.

This Wheel Throwing camp, for ages 10 and older, runs from 9 a.m. to noon, Monday through Friday, and includes five three-hour, instructor-led classes, clay, tools, glazes and firings. Tuition is $165 per child for each camp.

Week 1—Animals, Animals, Animals. (ages 7 and older)
If your child loves to explore nature and loves animals, this is the camp for them. Campers will learn how to express themselves in clay by exploring various hand building and texturing techniques while creating animal-related projects. The children will have the opportunity to paint and glaze each project. Campers can pick up their projects in about two weeks, after they have been high-fired in the kiln.

Weeks 2 & 3—Wheel Throwing (ages 10 and older)
During this focused camp on wheel throwing, campers will learn about form and function. They will learn how to create bowls, cylinders and plates on the pottery wheel. We will alter pieces, attach handles and trim them. Foot rings will be discussed and investigated. Campers will have the opportunity to glaze select projects. The items will be fired and available for pickup about two weeks after the conclusion of camp.

Sign up for:

Week 1, June 12 -16 (Sold Out)
Week 2, July 10 - 14 (Sold Out)
